John Green’s “Looking For Alaska”

I wanted so badly to lie down next to her on the couch, to wrap my arms around her and sleep. Not fuck, like in those movies. Not even have sex. Just sleep together, in the most innocent sense of the phrase. But I lacked the courage and she had a boyfriend and I was gawky and she was gorgeous and I was hopelessly boring and she was endlessly fascinating. So I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane.
Love, Me

I’m putting you on the back burner, my lovely fantasy
I’ve realized that there won’t be a you and me
It’s not that I’m giving up on the thought of being together
And this harsh reality sure isn’t better
But I know in my heart you’re happy with her
Despite any spell I try to conjure
I’m putting you on a shelf, my lovely dream
It hurts so much I want to scream
To know you won’t be holding my hand
This didn’t go as I had planned
Deep down inside I’ll always be waiting
Full of love, never hating
I’m putting you in a box, my lovely illusion
I’ll send it to my palace; my life but a different version
Perhaps one day I’ll take it down
And look at it without a frown
Or maybe it’ll be you that re-hatches the magic
To keep out future from turning tragic
I’m closing the curtains on you, my dear
Though I know it won’t step a single tear
It’s you I’ll always be in love with
Forgetting you is just a myth
But for now I need to divert my focus
My life is already a circus
I’ll keep my heart open for you, my love
Ready to show you the stars and universe above
Tell me if and when that day will come
So that I won’t be numb
Because if you are vague and only hover
I’ll close my door forever

One I Love

One I Love
"One I love, two I love,
Three I love, I say,
Four I love with all my heart,
Five I cast away.
Six he loves, seven he loves,
Eight they both love.
Nine he comes, ten he tarries,
Eleven he courts, twelve he marries. "
“Love is the very essence of life. It is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Yet it is not found only at the end of the rainbow. Love is at the beginning also, and from it springs the beauty that arched across the sky on a stormy day. Love is the security for which children weep, the yearning of youth, the adhesive that binds marriage, and the lubricant that prevents devastating friction in the home; it is the peace of old age, the sunlight of hope shining through death. How rich are those who enjoy it in their associations with family, friends, and neighbors! Love, like faith, is a gift of God. It is also the most enduring and most powerful virtue.”
― Gordon B. Hinckley
These are some quotes that I found useful when I was dating.
“True love is not so much a matter of romance as it is a matter of anxious concern for the well-being of one's companion.” Gordon B. Hinkley

“Stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight.”
― Gordon B. Hinckley

Friendship isn’t about whom you have known the longest - it’s about who came, and never left your side.

Each choice we make causes a ripple effect in our lives. When things happen to us, it is the reaction we choose that can create the difference between the sorrows of our past and the joy in our future
